We’re Jody & Shawna!

We’re two sisters that love the Lord. Every time we get on the phone together (and for sure when we’re in person) we always end up talking about what God is doing in our lives. What he’s teaching us. How we’re failing (and sometimes getting it right). Sometimes we have no idea what’s next and oftentimes God does reveal what’s next and we’re completely overwhelmed by how He asks us to do more than we feel capable of. As we share about our lives we get to speak spiritual truths over each other that we wouldn’t have seen on our own.

One day, we were feeling so grateful to God for the way He uses the other to encourage us and challenge us. We thought (and said),

“What would I do without you?”

Then literally, “How do women without spiritual sisters do it?”

So! We’re launching a podcast to invite others into the conversation. And we’re inviting you to come along!

Hi, I’m Shawna. I love that you’re here! Some other things I love…I love telling stories. I love to learn. I love that I’m not perfect but I get to have a personal relationship with a God who is. I love a good latte. I love my husband, Dan.  I love that we all have a different story but our stories don’t define who we are. I love that my adult children (Bryn, Drayson, Grant & Eden, & Haven) no longer need me but humor me anyway. I love shoes. I love my routines & adventure! I love really gooey cinnamon rolls and avocado toast. Not together. (Ew!) I love finding the joy in life’s ordinary moments. I love making new friends and spending time with old ones. I love spending time with God reading His Word & lingering in conversation with Him. I love trips to Cali to be with my family.  I love sunshine! I love that we can learn from one another as we open up God’s Word, our stories and our own hearts. I love that we’re on this journey together!

Hi, I’m Jody. I love that you’re here! Some other things I love…I love walking with women (I do mean literally walk, especially if we are walking to a good coffee shop) and talking about what we are learning about who God is and how He is at work in our lives. I love spending time in the word of God, praying and listening, paying attention to what God is up to around me. I love my husband Johnny and our adult children, Tyler married to Kelyn and Lauren. I love being a Nana to our new granddaughter!! She is such a joy! I love learning. I love coffee…in a mug! I love a good meal with my family around the table. I love camping near the beach. I love sitting on the beach while my family surfs. I love reading and hiking.  I even love my energetic 80 pound dog. (She’s a rescue and can be a challenge.) I love meeting new people and making new friends. I love Jesus and I want others to know how much He loves them.
